In December 2024, the Al Wathba Union Parade brought together thousands of visitors to celebrate the UAE's National Day with a large-scale public event featuring live performances, ceremonial moments and a spectacular parade experience.

Appointed by the UAE Presidential Court, Evolution Technical was selected to design, supply and deliver a comprehensive AVL solution across the Grandstand, VIP hospitality areas, back-of-house facilities and mobile parade units, ensuring seamless technical integration across the entire event site.

The Challenge

Delivering the Al Wathba Union Parade required a robust and highly coordinated technical production solution capable of supporting a large-scale public celebration across multiple event zones. The production needed to provide consistent, high-quality audio, video and communications for the main stage, VIP hospitality areas, back-of-house operations and mobile parade units, all operating simultaneously.

With large audiences spread across an expansive outdoor venue, maintaining synchronized audio, reliable signal distribution and uninterrupted communications was critical. The technical infrastructure also needed to integrate seamlessly with the event environment, ensuring safe cable management, efficient operations and flawless performance throughout the celebration without disrupting the visitor experience.

The Solution

Evolution Technical team delivered a fully integrated AVL infrastructure designed to provide reliable performance across every area of the event. Large-format LED displays, a premium Audio system, digital audio control, professional microphone systems and advanced networking technologies were combined to ensure consistent coverage, synchronized communications and seamless production throughout the parade.

Supporting infrastructure, including custom Litec truss bridging systems, provided safe and efficient cable management while preserving the visual presentation of the venue.

As part of the Mansour Festival at Zayed Sports City, Evolution Technical was appointed by Energie Entertainment to design and deliver a fully wireless lighting solution for a fleet of illuminated parade floats. The project required a creative approach to mobile event lighting, ensuring every float remained visually striking while operating independently throughout the live procession.

The Challenge

Unlike a conventional event installation, the moving floats had no access to mains power and operated continuously along the parade route. The lighting system therefore needed to be completely self-contained, lightweight and reliable, providing consistent performance for the entire event without the use of generators or trailing cabling.

The Solution

Evolution developed a fully battery-powered lighting system using Astera AX5 uplights, AX3 spotlights and Titan Tubes to create dynamic colour, accent lighting and linear effects across each float. All fixtures were pre-programmed, fully charged and wirelessly controlled, with brightness levels carefully optimised to maximise battery life while maintaining a vibrant visual appearance throughout the parade.

Each float was individually prepared, tested and commissioned prior to the event, ensuring reliable operation and consistent lighting performance from the opening procession through to the finale.

For the opening ceremony of Riyadh Season 2022, Evolution Technical was commissioned to design and engineer a full-scale moving paper boat as a unique performance feature for the opening parade. The concept combined mechanical engineering with scenic fabrication, transforming a standard utility buggy into a fully operational vehicle while preserving the delicate appearance of a folded paper boat adorned with Riyadh Season branding in multiple languages.

The Challenge

Creating a fully drivable vehicle that convincingly resembled a lightweight paper sculpture presented a significant engineering challenge. The buggy required extensive mechanical modification while maintaining safe operation, structural integrity and precise steering. The completed structure also had to be transported from Dubai to Riyadh, assembled on site and prepared for live performance within a tight delivery schedule.

The Solution

Our Mechatronics team completely stripped the buggy back to its core mechanical components before designing and fabricating a bespoke supporting chassis to carry the scenic structure. The steering system was re-engineered with a custom helm, incorporating integrated steering, braking and throttle controls to provide intuitive vehicle operation.

A lightweight scenic shell was constructed using custom-shaped hollow plastic panels mounted onto the engineered frame, recreating the appearance of a folded paper boat while remaining durable enough for live operation. Following transportation to Riyadh, the team carried out final assembly, testing and on-site engineering adjustments to ensure the vehicle performed flawlessly during the opening ceremony.
